The Correction Window: What You Can Change After Submitting a Form
After the last date to apply, many recruiting bodies open a short correction window. It is the only sanctioned way to fix a submitted form, and it comes with limits.
What is usually editable
Spelling of your name, and parents' names
Date of birth, gender and category, sometimes only once
Photograph and signature
Educational details
Exam city preferences
What usually stays locked
Registered mobile number and email
The post applied for, in some recruitments
Anything after the window closes
Costs and limits
Some bodies charge a correction fee, and a higher one for a second correction. A change of category may require you to pay the difference in application fee; a refund is not given when the change lowers the fee.
How to use it well
Note the window dates on the day you apply.
Compare the submitted form line by line with your certificates.
Make all changes in one sitting and download the revised form.
If there is no window
Write to the body with documentary proof before the admit card is issued. Do not submit a second application to fix the first; duplicates are often cancelled together.
